Review: Supernatural Season 4, Episode 17: It's a Terrible Life
Oh my goodness, Dean driving a Prius!
I burst out laughing!
Not to mention, the juice cleanse and salads. And the suspenders!
THE SUSPENDERS!
And Sam! Sam doing IT!!!
Oh my goodness, this was such a good episode!
It was so hilarious! Like, these are the episodes of Supernatural that I just adore. It’s always interesting to see what Sam and Dean would be like if they weren’t Winchesters. Although, as we learned, they wouldn’t actually be that different because hunting is in their blood.
Speaking of hunting, the best part of the whole episode was when Dean found the Ghostfacer’s instructional videos online. I was SO HAPPY to see the Ghostfacers again! I just died of joy.
However, I did think that the premise of the episode—that the angel Zachariah wanted to show Sam and Dean that they were, in fact, destined to fight monsters—was silly. I mean, was it really necessary? It seems like a lot of unnecessary trouble. Also, the monster wasn’t particularly interesting. A workaholic ghost? Like, what? The idea of going into work when you’re dead is hellish! Surely, being deceased is a good reason to quit!
Plus, this episode didn’t really advance the main plot line in any way. However, I do think it was necessary because the last episode was so heavy. They needed to do something light and fun to cut the tension.
Anyhow, I don’t mind too much that it didn’t move the plot along. I just like Dean in suspenders.
Rating: 9.5/10
