Now THAT was an excellent finale.   We got a little bit of everything in this episode: drama, emotion, and action. It felt very satisfying and balanced; I think this was an excellent piece of television writing. First of all, I have to say BRAVO to the Locke kids for defeating Gabe/Dodge. Their plan of attack was very clever and it was fairly well executed too. Obviously they made some mistakes (like letting the shadow crown go into the ocean and all that jazz), but overall I was impressed.  That whole fight sequence was EPIC. I especially enjoyed the moment that Kinsey jumped off the balcony and then came up with her big, fluffy wings. If I had to have one of the Locke's keys, that would be the key I would choose. Those wings looked fantastic (and I bet it's really fun to fly around when you're not fighting for your life!). Obviously I'm glad that they defeated Gabe, but I'm also glad that the show introduced a new villain right away. I have a feeling that Captain 

Well, this plot is certainly heating up!  First of all, I have to say that I'm glad Ellie is back. I mean, you would think that going through a glowing demon door into Hell would kill someone, but I'm glad she made it! And hey, maybe her stay in the demon dimension taught her something about getting rid of Gabe/Dodge. That would certainly be useful. I'm just sad that she missed seeing Erin alive and in the flesh; she really is the only keeper of the keys left now.  Anyway, that was a great reveal in an episode that was otherwise pretty sad.  Don't get me wrong, this was an excellent episode, but it was kind of dark. I mean, it was just awful to see Jackie die in Tyler's arms, especially after he worked so hard to save her. It was pretty heartbreaking.  I'm wondering if everyone who is infected with the demonic energy dies after they lose their demons. It could be a side effect of the demon-freeing key or it could be the fact that the demons damage the human body

If you read my last review, you might remember that I suggested that the Lockes make another key to counteract Gabe's key. It must have been a good idea because that's exactly what the Lockes are doing in this episode! I mean, making a key makes sense. The ability to make keys is one of the only things the Lockes have on their side. I think it's likely to be a succesful plan. Gabe's demon key is certainly his most powerful weapon, and if the Lockes can even the playing field, they're much more likely to be able to defeat him. That being said, they are certainly in a BAD situation at the moment.  Gabe's army of demons is truly terrifying, and it's even more frightening that Gabe wants the Lockes to join him. Having a demon in your body sounds like a fate worse than death. Plus, the fact that Gabe has law enforcement at his beck and call opens a whole new range of horrifying possibilities.  Losing Jackie to the demons was also pretty bad. I'm not really em

Well, that was a good try.  I have to hand it to the Lockes, they had a well thought out plan, it made a lot of sense, it seemed to be pretty foolproof, and if it hadn't been for that stupid bird we'd all be singing "ding dong, the witch is dead" right now.  I mean, they came soooo close to destroying Dodge forever, but close wasn't good enough. It's a great story telling tool because I immediately wanted to watch the next episode when this episode was over, but it was super frustrating to know that the Lockes were so close, yet so far away.  But, before I spend too much time lamenting, we should talk about the big things that happened in this episode.  So, let's talk about the fact that GABE HAS A NEW KEY! I am absolutely horrified. I mean, what could possibly be worse for the Lockes? The whole situation is an absolute disaster. I have no idea how the Lockes are going to fix this situation. I mean, maybe they could create a new key to counteract Gabe'

Oh, Erin!  I was just starting to get used to having her on this show, and now she's DEAD!  It's disappointing because I was liking her character more and more, but also because it was a pretty stupid way to die. I understand that Erin probably still has the mind of a teenager, but there was no reason for her to go up against Dodge on her own. I mean, if Erin told the Lockes she had a plan to kill Dodge, they would probably offer to help! There's no reason for all the secrecy! Now, the Lockes have lost a valuable ally and a valuable key. For heaven's sake, they don't even know how the chain key works! The Lockes are at such a disadvantage in this situation.  They're just lucky that Gabe/Dodge seems to believe that the Lockes still don't know about him. By the way, that makes Dodge a pretty stupid demon because it's SO OBVIOUS! The second Kinsey broke the mirror when she saw him, he should have known that something was up. Now, THIS was a good episode! There were so many twists and turns, and we got so many big plot points. I loved it!  First of all, I am over the moon that Kinsey and co. have finally realized that Gabe is Dodge and Eden is a demon (hey, that rhymes!). Now, finally, they have some idea of what they're up against!  I guess we should thank Eden for being so drunk and sloppy. If she didn't need to blow off some demonic steam, the Lockes would probably still be in the dark! I have to give props to the two actresses who play Kinsey and Eden. Their scene together in the bedroom was A+. I was interested in everything that was happening. The inside of Eden's head was also A+ set design from someone on the Locke & Key team. I love the idea of her brain being one big boutique. It really suits her. Now, the big question is what does Eden remember? If Eden knows that Kinsey was inside her head or remembers that she threatened Kinsey, it's going to be all over for the Lockes pret

Well, THIS was an emotional episode.  I feel absolutely awful for Duncan, and I'm even more angry with Rendell for taking away his memories and messing up his head in the first place! It was heartbreaking to see him so confused and upset! Plus, I'm pretty sure that Duncan thinks he's going crazy. I mean, I would probably think I was going crazy if I was in the same situation. And that's not even taking into account the emotional pain of remembering everything that happened with Rendell and his friends. Like I said in my previous review, the more I learn about Rendell, the less I like him. He came across as especially unlikeable in Duncan's flashbacks. Although, I have to say that the flashbacks themselves were pretty interesting. When all is said and done with Locke & Key, I'd like a whole spinoff show focusing on what happened when Rendell and his friends were young. Erin is also growing on me. I'm impressed by her attitude and her desire to fix Duncan&

Now that was a fun episode!  I love the idea of the Small World key (although the giant spider did put a damper on things). Imagine having five foot tall gummy bears whenever you want; what could be better? Of course, I imagine giant candy would make things a little sticky, but I could deal with that. That dollhouse would also be perfect for redecorating. You could move furniture from room to room without breaking a sweat. And it's going to make cleaning up the house after that spider attack much easier! Seriously, I don't know what the Lockes are going to tell Nina about what happened to the house. It's wrecked! Plus, there's like spider goo everywhere.  All the same, I have a feeling that Bode and Jamie are going to have a lot of fun with that dollhouse. (Well, they will after the Lockes deal with all the demonic creatures running around Matheson). In terms of the rest of the episode, I was interested to see how Erin reacted to being back at Key House. I'm unsure

Now, THAT was a good cliffhanger!  You have to feel for Erin in this episode. Imagine being trapped in your own head for twenty years and missing half your life! Where would you even go from there? How would you restart your life? Setting the magic keys and demon monsters aside, it's a lot to process!  However, I'm obviously glad that she's out of her own head now. I think she's going to be a real asset to the Locke kids in figuring everything out and revealing that Gabe is Dodge and all that jazz. The kids in Rendell's time seemed much more serious about magic than our current protagonists.  I'm actually kind of shocked that the Lockes never considered going into Erin's head before. I mean, Dodge thought of it pretty quick. But better late than never! I'm looking forward to seeing where this plot line goes.  As you can probably tell, I really enjoyed this episode. Now, I'm not usually one for teen dramas (well, aside from The Vampire Diaries ), but I have to admit that I'm really enjoying Netflix's new-ish original series  Locke & Key. I mean, magical keys and well monsters? It's a pretty original premise. And, although I could do without the teen relationship drama and moodiness, it's a creative show with interesting plots and fantastic special effects. What else can you ask for? In case you need a recap,  Locke & Key  follows a family that returns to their ancestral home after their father is murdered. While settling in to their new home in New England, the Locke family discovers their family's long history with magical keys, and many magical trails and tribulations ensue. I recently finished watching season one of the show, so I was glad to see that a second season had been recently released.  So far, I have to say that season two is off to a good start. I thought that season one had a slow start, so I was deli
