Review: Supernatural Season 8, Episode 18: Freaks and Geeks

Oh my goodness, this episode made me so ANGRY! Don’t get me wrong, it was a really good episode, and I enjoyed it a lot, but I just can’t STAND teenagers with attitudes.

I swear, listening to a teen telling an adult that they have it all figured out is the most provoking thing. I don’t think I was ever that bad when I was young, and I certainly wasn’t as annoying as the kids in this episode. Like, the total confidence that the teen hunters have that they’re right just drives me up the wall. I guess they’re good kids or whatever, but honestly I couldn’t stand any of them.

That’s not to say that the adults in this episode were golden because Victor ENRAGED me. I mean, what on EARTH was that guy thinking? Working with a vampire? Killing innocent families? I mean, that guy was obviously deranged. There’s no way any sane hunter would behave like that. I think it’s probably good that he’s dead; if he had lived he might have caused more problems.

On another note, I did enjoy the fact that we learned what happened to Krissy. I always enjoy it when the show brings back characters that we’ve seen before. Of course, it’s tragic that her dad is dead, but at least Krissy seems to be okay now.

Anyway, I thought this was a really good episode overall; I enjoyed it a LOT. The plot was really good and well written, and I just thought it was a very well crafted episode. It didn’t necessarily apply to the main plot of the season, but I enjoyed it anyway, and I thought it was a good addition to the show.

Okay, I cannot tell a lie, I was not the biggest fan of this episode. Like, don't get me wrong, it's still Peaky Blinders , so it's automatically better than like 90% of shows out there, but this was not its best moment. In my opinion, anyway. First of all, I am supremely annoyed by the time jump. Like, I don't mind when shows do time jumps when nothing much happens, but it seemed like a LOT happened here. First of all, Freddie died offscreen?????????? I cannot express to you how much I am NOT okay with that. I'm guessing there was some issue with the actor's contract because I can't imagine that the writers would choose to kill a major character offscreen. Like, that was so un-cool. At the very least, we earned a dramatic death scene and a wake in the Garrison! Also, it appears that Ada and Freddie were living in London. Peaky Blinders: Season 1 Episode 1 Review

So, I have to admit that people have been telling me to watch Peaky Blinders for years, but, somehow, I never got around to it, which is strange because, on the surface,  Peaky Blinders  is everything I like in television. It's a period drama, set in England, with a dark, brooding, leading man; I should love it, right? Well, I'm not sure why I resisted watching it for so long because this show is FAN-TASTIC. I mean, I've only seen the first episode at this point, but I can already tell that it is really and truly wonderful. First of all, where has Cillian Murphy been all my life? How is he like the best actor ever, and I've never heard of him? Maybe he's big in the UK and not so much in the US? Or maybe I've been living under a rock? I don't know. Peaky Blinders: Season 2 Episode 6 Review

Oh my goodness, THE DRAMA! THE D-R-A-M-A. As I was watching this episode, I actually had to pause a couple of times to let the sheer dramatic-ness of the situations wash over me. It was just all so DRAMATIC. Okay, let me take a deep breath, and then we can actually talk about the episode. First things first, Tommy and Grace are getting married! What gift should I send to the wedding, I am so unbelievably happy for them. Well, I think I'm mostly happy for Tommy, but Grace can get a share of that too. At least, I assume they're getting married. Tommy said it out loud, which means it will eventually come true. Although, I'm not sure if Grace knows they're getting married yet. And what are they going to do about that nice man from Poughkeepsie??????? The other problem with this situation is Grace only seemed interested in getting back with Tommy after she knew she was pregnant with his baby. Like, did she not love him before she knew that??
