Review: Supernatural Season 11, Episode 20: Don't Call Me Shurley


I don’t want to give myself too many props, but I always kind of suspected that Chuck was God.

I mean, there was obviously something about him that was different, and his sudden disappearance and reappearance was suspicious.

That being said, I have some quibbles about Chuck’s behavior as God. I mean, I think that’s kind of the point of the episode, right? No one wants or expects God to act in such a vain or narcissistic manner. (Although, I do support the blog with the photos of cats). The autobiography has to be one of the most obnoxious things ever! When you’re siding with Metatron in a situation, you know it has to be pretty bad.

That being said, by the end of the episode Chuck had more or less redeemed himself. I’m obviously glad that he put everything back to normal and that Dean has the amulet back. Plus, I’m over the moon that God has arrived to help the Winchesters deal with Amara (at least, I assume he’s going to help them with Amara; it would be obnoxious if he didn’t).

Speaking of Amara, I have to admit that the breadth and scope of her powers is truly and utterly terrifying. Those black veins? The rabid behavior? I mean, if she can fill an entire town with that evil smoke that easily, what’s stopping her from destroying the world in a week or two? The answer is nothing, and that’s what’s horrifying.

I guess we’ll just have to hope that Chuck can stop Amara from wiping any other towns or cities off the map!

Okay, I cannot tell a lie, I was not the biggest fan of this episode. Like, don't get me wrong, it's still Peaky Blinders , so it's automatically better than like 90% of shows out there, but this was not its best moment. In my opinion, anyway. Peaky Blinders: Season 1 Episode 1 Review

So, I have to admit that people have been telling me to watch Peaky Blinders for years, but, somehow, I never got around to it, which is strange because, on the surface,  Peaky Blinders  is everything I like in television. It's a period drama, set in England, with a dark, brooding, leading man; I should love it, right? Well, I'm not sure why I resisted watching it for so long because this show is FAN-TASTIC. I mean, I've only seen the first episode at this point, but I can already tell that it is really and truly wonderful. First of all, where has Cillian Murphy been all my life? How is he like the best actor ever, and I've never heard of him? Maybe he's big in the UK and not so much in the US? Or maybe I've been living under a rock? I don't know. Review: The Last Kingdom Season 4 Episode 9

Edward really is an idiot isn't he? Seriously! I'm amazed he's managed to survive as king as long as he has. He has no sense; and he certainly doesn't have fashion sense either. Charging the walls of Winchester like an angry toddler was the absolute height of foolishness. I continue to be disappointed by him in this season. How did Alfred's son get to be so stupid?  On the other hand, almost everyone else is impressing me.  My girl Eadith was AMAZING in this episode. Have I mentioned before how much I like her? The way she killed that Dane and freed Uhtred and the guys was so incredibly brave. I could never have done that;  come to think of it, I don't think I would even have thought of that. I'm not good with ideas under pressure. Eadith did let herself down a little bit because she revealed who she was, but that was a difficult moment for her, so I'll forgive it.
